Muriel’s Kitchen opened in Leicester Square over the summer and I was impressed with the decor and the display of luscious cakes and deserts…
And my opportunity finally arrived to dine there when a friend invited me out for a late lunch last week (I needed a break from essay writing anyway). I’m usually skeptical about eating in any restaurant in the heart of tourist land, but this would be an exception.
I ordered a vegetarian Mushroom and grilled Halloumi cheese burger, and my friend for the humble Fish Pie.
The price wasn’t bank-breaking neither was it student friendly. Sadly the portions are no where as wholesome as any of my Aunties’- so if they’re branding on the basis of ‘home comfort foods’, I wasn’t sold! Therefore, on my student budget – it’s not worth the fuss.
Muriel’s Kitchen has opened in Soho…
