Online lecture: Telling the African Story by Komla Dumor

Learn outside (the box of) the lecture room…

I had a 9am lecture this morning with the late great Kola Dumor as I sat behind my computer and came across his TEDxEuston talk Telling the African Story: Komla Dumor at TEDxEuston on YouTube.

And it just happens I will be going to Ghana for the Easter break so I couldn’t have seen this at a better time.

How to cover Africa in 2012 and beyond:

1. There must be a balance or please don’t patronize me.
2. When in doubt ask an AFRICAN expert – speaking the native tongue doesn’t make you an expert
3. Hire the best talent to tell your story
The biggest single audience for the BBC is Africa

Here’s a blog post on this talk: Inspire Me by Inspire Afrika Magazine

RIP Komla Dumor… Never forgotten x
