I’m on a mission to highlight woman of colour who embrace the headwrap as their Crowing Glory!
Today’s siStar is Abir Adil; an ambitious 1st year BA Public Relations student at London College of Communication. I spotted the East African fashionista at the LCC canteen and I just had to let her know exactly what I thought of her headwrap… I Love it!
Here’s what the Somali beauty had to say about being a “WrapStar“!
“I wrap my hair anyway for religious reasons, I’m Muslim. My influence is partly of African tradition with the turban. I get the ideas from the top of my head, but I do look at African turbans for inspiration. I look at Arise magazine and YouTube tutorials but I always have to add my own twist I don’t want to just copy…”
You’ve just gotta love Abir’s twist on the turban… Share your thoughts!
